this little piggy

so, i have been practically glued to the sewing machine lately. wow, there are just so many wonderful potential projects that keep popping up online. and there are birthdays galore in my little family circle at this time of year, which always calls for something cute and fun that can be whipped up in a flash. i am hooked on pencilcases and tissue holders at the moment. they make such wonderful presents, i think, and it is super easy to sew up a whole bunch while watching dvds over the weekend. and i must say when there is fabric like this one with the little piggies i just can't seem to help myself. i tell you, they are killing me with their cuteness.


and speaking of adorable, i love these gorgeous shinzi katoh (who i just adore) fabrics and can't wait to snatch some up for a few little Christmas goodies i have planned. oh, and almost by accident i stumbled upon tessuti's online store. do aussies know about this store? don't know how it managed to escape my notice all this time.

so with all this sewing goodness, all in all i would say that i am a very happy gal.

* on the ipod this week: joni mitchell- hits

* i am really enjoying the 'tea + talk' series at the melissa loves blog (an off-shoot of the creature comforts blog which i enjoy so much).

* i have added this wonderful looking tote posted at the purl bee to my sewing list. it looks the perfect size for a new knitting bag, my current one is looking a little too 'well-loved'.

* nichola has got me itching to make up some of my own chai mix. there are very few ones from the store that i like so i am definitely thinking of trying to put together my own blend.

* i am enjoying seeing the 'peer' artist's colouring book appearing all over the internet. It contains self-portrait drawings by some wonderful artists that you can colour in for yourself. if our dollar wasn't near crashing point i would most likely treat myself to a copy. for now though, i have to be content with admiring it online.

* i just love heidi's plush mary poppins. it has to be one of my all-time favourite movies so this drives me crazy with happiness. i really don't know how she does it again and again.
